Great Fun Mixing Dan Deacon at the Contemporary Arts Center
Last night I got the fine opportunity to work with Dan Deacon. Dan’s a pretty smart laid back guy who puts on a crazy show; and the audience loved every minute. Below is some footage of the event:
Dan unpacked some interesting gear from his case for soundcheck.

The crowd was packed in (photo: Scott Beseler).

bniesz mixtape 02: “Jebus”
I started this mixtape in post-WOXY unemployment oblivion, but have just recently decided to complete and post it. The following is a compilation of ten songs with “Jesus” (or in one case “Lord”) in their lyrics. As I’m not a particularly religious person, I see these songs more as spiritual metaphors, rather than Christian dogma. Some songs may have more religious overtones than others; while others may challenge traditional religious views. You may also notice that tracks six, seven, and eight have much more in common than a single lyric; yet are still quite unique from one another in their own right. Listen yourself and interpret how you will. Enjoy.

Here’s a look at the final product for the TV commercial for Discover Ohio. The song for the commercial came across my desk for mixing.
Sundresses Back in the Studio
Last month I had the pleasure to have The Sundresses back in the studio for the first time since we finished their award-winning album Barkinghaus. We laid down some basic tracks for their next album which may or may not be titled “Harpoon Dagger.”
Check out these videos from set-up time in the studio:
